RAW HONEY
Be aware that you are purchasing raw honey. This means the honey has not been pasteurized which involves exposing it to a high level of heat thus causing it to be deficient in the natural beneficial ingredients including antioxidants, amino acids, vitamins, minerals and enzymes. Honey is not like dairy products that is pasteurized to reduce bacteria and contaminants. Honey is a low moisture content product with high acidity so bacteria and other harmful organisms are unable to live or reproduce in honey. Most companies that pasteurize are trying to kill yeasts that are present in all honeys or they are trying to slow down the granulation process which will keep it in the liquid state longer. Yeast normally lives in honey although if the moisture content is below 18%, the yeast cannot reproduce. All nectar contains osmophilic yeasts which reproduce at higher moisture content and can cause fermentation. While fermentation does not necessarily pose any health risk, we do not encourage this by keeping our honey monitored for moisture content below 18%. We test all our batches of honey to ensure the moisture content for all honey we sell is not above 18%.
CHILDREN UNDER 1 YEAR OLD CANNOT HAVE HONEY. Raw honey can be dangerous for a baby under 1 year because of a bacteria, Clostridium botulinum, that thrives in soil and dust and which can be present in honey. The digestive system of a baby is not mature enough to fight this bacteria and can cause infant botulism, with serious results.
There is always a risk of allergy to any food. If you have severe pollen allergies, you are using at your own risk. Our honey will have pollen grains in it as well as other items normally present in the honey bee hive. There is potential risk of injury from eating raw honey and YOU KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES or others involved in the processing of such, both known and unknown and assume full responsibility for your purchase and use of our honey; and, HEREBY RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS BEEBLESST, LLC, their officers, other participants, and if applicable, owner and lessors of the premises ("RELEASEES") WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL ILLNESS OR INJURY.
